Southern Ridges

Photo782

Finally a glimpse of daylight after a torturous “half day” climb =]

Photo783

The view of the city skyline from the top. I was told one could see the F1 cars on the Marina Bay Street Circuit on a clear day!

Photo785

But alas, a clear day it was not.. Was looking out in the direction of Jakarta but I couldn’t even see it.

Photo787

I took a picture and when it turned out like this, I thought my camera was spoilt =[

Photo788

Then I took a second one and realised it wasn’t.. The church was so old that it aged the pictures =/

Photo790

Highest known point of the trail: Almost 80m above sea level.. Wow!

Photo795

This part of the trail was mostly above ground and I soon realised the reason behind it.

Photo804

As soon as I descended to ground level, I spotted a LION!

Photo805

Thankfully, Mr. Gardener came to my rescue and chased the lion away =]

Photo803

Madam Tussauds was apologetic that her house lion gave me a scare and invited me to her house for a cup of tea =D

Photo799

A beautiful house it was!

Photo800

And we enjoyed we our tea looking out into the endless lawn..

Photo802

While her husband and children had a game of badminton.

Photo801

Soon, I bade farewell and venture behind the tall grass..

Photo806

Where I was greeted by a friendly monkey =]

Photo811

Mr. Monkey showed me around the garden where there were lots of pretty flowers!

Photo812

A pity he didn’t have the keys to the greenhouse and so I left soon after.

Photo814

It felt as though I was in Australia =]

Photo815

The trail ends here as I received a call inviting me out for dinner xD

New Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

Looks like the Nissan 350z cross with Maserati Quattroporte & the old Mercedes Benz  300SL.. The rear resembles the Mazda RX8 & Alfa Romeo GT.

Best looking? It's something that will take me time to like =P haha

It’s a Secret =P

I'm a very simple person. To capture my heart, one must first capture my eyes. Then inspire me with your intellect. Finally, touch me with your heart. Only 3 steps but easier said then done =]

Once the girl has done her part, it’ll be my turn to find the keys to her heart. But it has merely begun the moment we walk into each other’s life. The challenge lies in making everything last..

Disappointing

Public Enemies (2/5 stars):

Definitely fell short of expectations, and once again proofs that Straits Times’ reviews cannot be depended on. Did I enjoy the movie? Absolutely not!

The whole movie (script, character etc.) is so shallow that I cannot help but wonder if I’d be better off reading John Dillinger’s (Johnny Depp) journal. The tone of the film was also monotonous, resulting in me dozing off at the one hour mark. Thankfully, the draggy plot meant that I didn’t missed much during my short visit to dreamland.

Saving grace comes from the actors who did their parts well, though that can hardly makeup for the “empty tin-cans” characters.

Definitely not worth the money nor time. Not recommended!

Long Overdue Post

Transformers:Revenge of The Fallen (4/5 stars):

Big, dumb and loud, but definitely entertaining =]

When I thought Straits Times’ movie reviews are bad, they just got worst! Why is there the need to focus on minute flaws of a perfectly enjoyable movie?

If I haven’t remember wrongly with this not too rusty brain of mine, the scene which drew the longest laughter was one with the two Autobots with African-American ghetto accents. And, instead of being irritated, I think that Bumblebee speaking in snatches of music is just a way to show his playful personality.

May I suggest that instead of having one correspondent cover all the movies, Straits Times should dedicate the job of movie reviewing to individuals who enjoy the particular genre. Or perhaps, the correspondent should at times put himself into the shoes of an average moviegoer (or fans of the particular genre) and give a more unbiased review.

*Before any anonymous start firing salvoes against me on my tag board again, allow me to clarify certain areas:

  1. I’m aware that this particular movie has received rock bottom reviews from most critics.
  2. Point that I have not rebutted outright, I do not disagree completely.
  3. I am also not targeting any correspondent in particular (just in case fans of John chance upon my blog).

Muthu’s Curry @ Suntec

The last time I’ve been to Muthu’s Curry was probably in my primary school days. Back then there was only one outlet – the Little India one. So when Michelle/Sam (I can’t remember) wanted to try the one at Suntec, I was more than agreeable (especially when the price isn’t as high as I though it’d be)..

As it turns out, that will probably be our first and last time. Dishes there are average at best (not so if you consider the price). Average to me is a great disappointment, considering the fantastic experience the original stall left on me. Even Jieyim’s Indian worker cooks better briyani =/

Muthu's Curry

Blended green tea beverage you might think? No, it’s Spinach with cottage cheese! Initially both Sam and me though it was a sauce for the briyani, as we visualised stir-fried spinach with melted cheese dressing (worlds apart) when we read the description on the menu –.-
